Grab your popcorn, pull up a chair at your favorite streaming device, and join me for four favorite films. All you need is a Zoom account and a couple of hours to watch and chat. You must have a Zoom account and be logged into that account to participate.
All movies are streamed with English closed captions on.
I will open the Zoom room half an hour before the movie starts. When I know everyone is there, I'll start the movie.
Folks are welcome to chat before the movie starts. During the movie, for best streaming quality, cameras and microphones are both muted (off) but the chat box will be available. Happy to extend the conversation for an hour following the screening, to allow for follow-up chatting and social conversation.

Using recycled materials, learn how to make low-cost and fun feeders to attract birds. I will meet you at Meadowood Park (outside, socially distanced, with masks) with all necessary materials and teach you how to make two types of bird feeders. ***You will need to bring a table to work on.*** Date: Saturday, January 16, 11 am – 12 pm Meadowood Park, 12810 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring (about a 10-minute drive from UUCSS) (If weather is bad or COVID-19 restrictions change, we will reschedule.)

I don’t want to wait for good weather to see my friends again. Assuming the weather is at least 45 degrees, we will gather in my garage with the big door open, social distancing style, and just hang out and play some no-contact games like charades and Cards Against Humanity (cards will already be in piles so no sharing or passing cards). Bring your own hot cocoa, snacks, mask, and camp chair and dress appropriately. I will have some fans going to keep the air circulating, but at least we will be protected from the cold wind by being in the garage. This event is limited to 9 slots to maintain 6 feet distancing and mask are required.

The Family Pizza Night tradition continues, but with some adjustments. We will make and deliver an appetizer size Just Pesto pizza, two gourmet entree pizzas, plus provide a salad, a bottle of Italian soda, and a dessert for your family. The entree pizzas can be chosen from a list we will provide of vegetarian or omnivore options – think meat lovers, goat cheese and sundried tomatoes, deep dish spinach, and more. For those who live alone, you are welcome to split the dinner with another UUCSSer (we will deliver to both) or store the extra in your freezer.
Will deliver to your front step, or a mutually agreed upon location with 60 minutes of church. This is five slots for delivery on the evening of Saturday, January 23, 2021.

Explore the beauty of the natural world in the D.C./Metro area. We will drive to a local park/river/lake in the early afternoon to spend 2-3 hours in nature. You can choose to hike quickly, slowly, hike all of the trail or just part of it, or spend your time sitting by the water or in the woods writing, reading, sleeping, standing on your head, or staring at the trees.
