Geology Hike in Rock Creek Park
Description of Donation: |
Back from last year! This hike, led by geologist Mark McBride, will explore a part of northern Rock Creek Park starting near Boundary Bridge. This beautifully wooded area has some up and down, but no rock scrambling. We will stay on trails and roadways wide enough to allow proper distancing. Geological features to be seen include the Laurel Formation diamictite, erosion of the hills and valleys, and colonial-era flood plain deposits. |
