Join us for a reading and contemplative discussion of an essay (still to be chosen) by James Baldwin, whose fierce and illuminating commentary remains a warning and a balm for our current times. We will share the texts ahead of time for those who like to read ahead. For kinesthetic learners, or just folks who like to draw, we'll also provide materials and instruction for Zen doodling. Those interested can engage in this mindful and relaxing process as we delve into deep topics. If you have favorite Baldwin pieces, please bring them too. This event is open for people who already know and admire James Baldwin and for those who would like to be introduced to him |
