DRAMEDY AND DINNER AT CLYDE’S DINER

Description of Donation: Clyde’s, a new play by two-time Pulitzer-Prize winner Lynn Nottage, has been described as a razor-sharp comedy centered on a truck stop that offers its formerly incarcerated kitchen staff a shot at reclaiming their lives. Even as the shop’s tough-as-nails owner tries to keep them under her thumb, the motley crew of line cooks are given purpose and permission to dream through their shared quest to create the perfect sandwich.

We can’t promise the perfect sandwich, but we’ll supply good eats and drinks, play scripts of Clyde’s, a friendly director, and an apartment at Riderwood to put together a cast for Nottage’s dramedy of 10 actor-readers, a truck-stop style dinner, and a good discussion after our in-person play reading on Saturday, October 21 at 6:30. As before, our casting policy is racial- and gender-flexible and all roles will be double cast.
