Description of Donation: | This hike, led by geologist Mark McBride, will explore a part of northern Rock Creek Park, but south of last year’s hike. This beautifully wooded area has some ups and downs, but we will stay on trails and roadways, with no rock scrambling. Geological features to be seen include the Laurel Formation diamictite, erosion of the hills and valleys, Cretaceous upland gravels, the Fall Line, and colonial-era flood plain deposits. Each bid is for an individual. |
