- In the cold of winter, let's get together for a cozy evening of good company & conversation to enjoy a French bistro dinner of Julia Child's onion soup & boeuf bourguignon, with traditional accompaniments, French wines, & dessert crepes.
Best Exotic Marigold Hotel & Supper
- Description of Donation:
- "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" follows a group of British retirees who decide to "outsource" their retirement to less expensive and seemingly exotic India. Enticed by advertisements for the newly restored Marigold Hotel and bolstered with visions of a life of leisure, they arrive to find the palace a shell of its former self. Though the new environment is less luxurious than imagined, they are forever transformed by their shared experiences, discovering that life and love can begin again when you let go of the past." It is funny in places but heartwarming and poignant throughout. A light buffet supper will be provided, featuring a mix of British & Indian foods.
Laughter Workshop
- Description of Donation:
- We all know how great laughter feels, and now scientists are beginning to confirm that it can cure all kinds of ailments. The best news is that the effects are just as good as going to the gym. We will do a series of laughter exercises, as well as guided meditations.
