UUCSS Star Trek Fan Night
- Description of Donation:
- Are you a Trekkie or a Trekker? Want to get together and get to know your fellow UUCSS Trek fans? This event is going to help you do just that! Calling all lovers of any incarnation to join up for a night of Trek-related fun on Captain James T. Kirk's future birthday, March 22nd. We'll choose a couple of episodes to watch together, talk some Trek shop, and enjoy some foods inspired by far-off galaxies. Have some cool memorabilia you'd like to share with those who will appreciate it? Bring it along! Sara will have her treasures on display, including some pretty spiffy autographs, and her Star Trek Monopoly set will be out and waiting to be played.
Second Annual Top Chef Middle Eastern Feast
- Description of Donation:
- Come enjoy a delicious feast prepared by UUCSS's incredible Top Chef David Levy and his fantastic Sous-Chef Richard Lorr. This will be a top-notch banquet from soup to nuts of expertly prepared dishes with Middle Eastern flavors. David will include a locavore twist to make a full evening of tasty delights. Come hungry to enjoy this wonderful food and libations to complement!
Midwest Church Basement Dinner
- Description of Donation:
- Returning for a second year (by popular demand) - Take yourself back to the 1950's with authentic comfort food from an Iowa Methodist church basement potluck dinner. Green bean casserole with mushroom soup sauce and onion rings, scalloped potatoes, scalloped corn, meatloaf with eggs and ketchup topping, tuna hot dish, Jell-O with fruit cocktail and Dream Whip, marble Bundt cake -- those are the dishes we're talking about here. The date is the same as the Women's Retreat, so Mark is doing it all (Esther again refuses to have anything to do with such an idea). Perfect event for folks who want some home cooking that weekend, but can't get it at home. Wine will be on the table for those who don't want to be too authentic.
