Apple Pie and Stories
- Description of Donation:
- Join Marcia Joiner and Jimmy Schreiber for this annual evening event of apple pie making from scratch. This year we've included story telling.
We meet at Marcia and Jimmy's house and peel apples, make crusts and assemble two pies. While they bake, we each tell a story from our childhood. When the pies are done, we serve them up with coffee, ice cream and warm conversation.
OM SHANTI OM a great night of Bollywood
- Description of Donation:
- Come see Jo Paoletti's favorite Indian film,"Om Shanti Om" (2007) a masala mix of fantasy, romance, thriller, comedy and (of course) song and dance. This one will make you laugh, sing, dance and probably even consider a few spiritual questions you didn't even know you had. Rum and beer served (as in India). Indian snacks before the movie, and desserts at intermission.
BIG FAT GREEK DINNER XIV
- Description of Donation:
- Yes, this is Number 14! Come join us at Liz and Tim’s warm and inviting home, dining at an elegantly set table. Mingle with friends while feasting on Greek mezes (appetizers), sipping Ouzo or raki, followed by Kyria Piata (main courses) and ending with Glyka (desserts) including baklava, chocolates, and Mediterranean fruits. This is not a vegetarian meal, but vegetarian items are included.
What a swell party it will be!
Kinky Boots Night
- Description of Donation:
- Back by continuing demand! If you haven’t seen this movie, you have a treat in store. A young man inherits a family boot factory, to find it being driven out of business by cheap Romanian imports. How to save it? Well, we’ll let you see for yourself, but there are some, ah, nontraditional boots involved. We’ll watch this hilarious – but thoughtful – British cult film, supplemented with plenty of British noshes and bevvys.
