[1:00pm] Northwest Branch Hike & Backyard Banter,
- Description of Donation:
- Escape suburbia without leaving it! Join us for a 3-4 mile hike on the Northwest Branch trail beginning and ending in Catherine Buckler’s backyard. Enjoy friendly conversation as we look for local wildlife (birds, squirrels, bugs, dogs....) and signs of fall. On this leg of the Northwest Branch trail you'll be able to imagine you've journeyed to a distant woodland without having to travel very far at all! As hikes go, it will be easy, but there will be some hills and rocky terrain. Sturdy shoes and ankles highly recommended. Each space is for one adult and up to two children who are happy to walk 3-4 miles (or be carried by their adult).
We'll meet at 1:00, hike for 3-4 miles, then return to Catherine's backyard to revive with snacks and refreshments.
In case of rain, we will do our best to reschedule at a time when most people can participate.

- Description of Donation:
- Come celebrate the season with an autumnal dinner and fall decor. Learn how cultures around the world observe the Autumn Equinox with rituals of gratitude, balance, and letting go. Maureen Malloy and Rick Ehrenreich will co-host with Maggie Hayes at Riderwood

[7:00pm] Shine On Harvest Moon I
- Description of Donation:
- This event was such a hit the last 3 years, we're doing it again. The actual Harvest Moon is September 29, but we'll join together a day after. We'll gather on a big grassy area on the Riderwood campus to admire the moon and be serenaded by "Moon Songs." As a special treat, Steve Leete will bring his telescope to look not only at the moon, but some planets as well. Afterward, we'll retire to my apartment to have Blue Moon Beer and Moon Pies. Bring a lawn chair to join us for the evening! Slots are for individuals.
